Question: Define Header and Footer in MS-Word?

Answer: A header is printed in the top margin; a footer is printed in the bottom margin. Headers and footers can be as simple as the document title and a page number, but you can create headers and footers that contain graphics, multiple paragraphs, and fields.

Question: Define formatting of paragraph in MS-Word?

Answer: The easiest way to change paragraph alignment is to use the alignment buttons on the Formatting toolbar.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts. Ctrl+L= Left Align; Ctrl+R= Right Align; Ctrl+E= Center; Ctrl+J= Justify.

Line and Paragraph Spacing

1.      Right-click the first paragraph and choose Paragraph from the shortcut menu. (You can also open this menu by selecting Paragraph from the Format menu).
2.      Click the down arrow to open the line spacing drop-down list and choose Double. You can see the change in the preview box.
3.      With the dialog box still open, select Single from the line spacing drop down menu. Notice the change in the preview pane.

Question: Define mail merge in MS-Word?

Answer: Mail Merge is a useful tool that allows you to produce multiple letters, labels, envelopes, name tags, and more using information stored in a list, database, or spreadsheet. When performing a Mail Merge, you will need a Word document.

 

To use Mail Merge:

  1. Open an existing Word document, or create a new one.
  2. From the Mailings tab, click the Start Mail Merge command and select Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard from the drop-down menu.
Question: What are envelope and labels in MS-Word?

Answer: 

1.      Click the Mailing tab;
2.      Go to create group;
3.      Then you will see the Envelopes button and Labels button.

Question: How to use page column in MS-Word?

Answer: To format an entire document in columns, choose Format > Columns and select the number of columns to create. If you choose Two, the document will be laid out in two equal size columns arranged between the current page margins.

Question: what to create, format or delete hyperlinks in MS-Word?

Answer: 

1.      Select the text or object that you want to display as the hyperlink.
2.      Right-click and then click Hyperlink/ Remove Hyperlink.
