How to solve ‘File is too large for the destination file system’ error in windows

Many times, when you try to copy a large file (larger than 4 GB) to an external storage device like a pen drive or an external hard disk, you might have faced an error that says ‘file is too large for the destination file system’. See the image below. Their, I have attempted to copy a disk image called ‘imageFile.iso’ (larger than 6 GB) to a pen drive and faced the same error.

This problem is arising because the storage device is formatted in FAT 32 file system. In this file system, your storage device could be detected by every operating systems but you can not copy a file larger than 4 GB. So you need to format the device to NTFS file system.
To format, go to My Computer and right click on the device and select format.

Then choose NTFS as your file system (you might choose quick format ) and start formatting.
